BiPar Sciences lead product candidate is iniparib, the United States Adopted Name (USAN) for the investigational PARP1 inhibitor, BSI-201, a tumor-selective drug that targets and inhibits the activity of PARP, or poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase, a key enzyme in DNA repair and cell proliferation proliferation. Iniparib has the potential to be an important new treatment across a range of tumor types.Iniparib is being evaluated in multiple Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials in advanced solid tumors, including triple-negative breast cancer.
BiPar Sciences plans to expand the development of iniparib in combination with various chemotherapies and other accepted treatment regimens for several types of cancer.
BiPar Sciences broader portfolio of cancer therapies includes the product candidates BSI-302, an anti-tubulin agent, and BSI-401, a PARP inhibitor.
